Foot Mobilising
Foot mobilisation therapy is a hands-on technique used by Podiatrists, Physiotherapistsand Chiropractors to treat the joints of the foot and ankle. During FMT treatment thejoints are gently guided through their passive range of motion in order to gently releaseconnective tissue tightness and restriction. Releasing these restrictions restores jointfunction, improves range of motion and quality of movement through the joints.Sometimes, if particularly stuck, short sharp movements are required and a ‘click’ issometimes heard, this is the release of built up pressure in the joint. Foot mobilisinghelps to stimulate synovial fluid production – your joints' natural lubricant. It also helpsto desensitise joint pain receptors and decrease muscle guarding.
All our clinicians are trained in Foot Mobilisation Techniques and will offer thetreatment if they think it is appropriate for you.
